We all know that at Dreamforce big announcements are made, but I mean what else could there be, if as little as a week ago Salesforce released the new Lightning Experience. Well they amazed us again, this week at Dreamforce they released Salesforce IQ for Small Business, which delivers a smarter and easier way to supercharge sales; and they are making a whole bunch of product announcements and updates this week and we will talk about some of them here in our “Things We’ve Learned About #CRM this Week”.

1) All aboard “Dreamboat” #DF15DreamBoat

This year Dreamforce caught everyone off guard with a giant “Dreamboat” cruise ship anchored in the San Francisco Bay, with stars like Goldie Hawn, Stevie Wonder, and Adrian Grenier on hand for the event.

Salesforce’s big annual conference, Dreamforce, has grown so big over the past decade that this year it even ran out of hotel rooms to accommodate all the visitors in downtown San Francisco. To solve this, Salesforce rented a cruise ship from Celebrity Infinity to accommodate for over 1,100 guests.

2) Salesforce IQ powered by Relationship Intelligence

SalesforceIQ was created with the idea to reimagine how customer relationship management works by automating, simplifying, and deepening the way sales professionals engage with customers and prospects.

SalesforceIQ built a Relationship Intelligence technology, that brings predictive analytics and data-driven insights via automatic data capture into CRM technology; this will make it easier for companies to communicate and collaborate with sales teams to close deals faster. SalesforceIQ for Small Business is powered by Relationship Intelligence technology to help small teams prioritize and gain deeper insights into their customers, so they can sell smarter and grow their business faster.

Relationship Intelligence is a technology that provides actionable insights based on relationship data of clients, colleagues and partners. Relationship Intelligence technology generates data-driven insights to support a company’s or an individual’s capacity for understanding, planning, problem solving, and communicating in the most effective manner to drive productive outcomes.

SalesforceIQ offers features like:

  • Predictive notifications and email tracking surface, promising opportunities to the top of the inbox.
  • Data from email, calendar, marketing automation and other sources is automatically captured, and out-of-the-box reports provide instant insights that accelerate the sales process.
  • Suggested Tasks recommend specific actions to sales reps to help ensure they never drop the ball

4) Salesforce IoT Cloud Connect the Internet of Things with the Internet of Customers.

More than 90% of the world’s data has been generated over the last two years, so every day it gets more and more difficult for companies to capture all the data they need and more importantly to turn this data into actionable insights. With IoT Cloud companies can process massive quantities of data, build business rules with simple, intuitive tools, and engage proactively with customers in real time.

Salesforce IoT Cloud is powered by Thunder, a massively scalable, real-time processing engine. Thunder enables businesses to unlock insights that were previously invisible and allows anyone to take proactive, personalized actions from any device to get closer than ever to customers.

“Salesforce is turning the Internet of Things into the Internet of Customers,” said Marc Benioff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Salesforce.“The IoT Cloud will allow businesses to create real-time 1:1, proactive actions for sales, service, marketing or any other business process, delivering a new kind of customer success.”
