1 ) Salesforce Considering Discount on its ‘Greatest Product Ever’

Ever since Wave was released late last year, Salesforce first data analytics platform, the critics have said that it costs too much. Reports from CMSWire and InformationWeek say the license fee just to run the infrastructure necessary for Wave can cost $40,000 a month, in addition to license costs of about $125 per user every month.

According to a note made by the investment bank Pacific Crest, companies are loving it, but added: “We heard from partners that customers are actually paying over $1 million, in some cases, for the Wave product.” We can reason from this that Wave might be out of range for smaller businesses.

Benioff is always praising Salesforce Wave Analytics; recently he mentioned: “I don’t think there’s a customer that I’ve spoken to this quarter who hasn’t been interested in the Analytics Cloud, and I can’t imagine a Salesforce customer that’s not going to end up with the Analytics Cloud.”

Salesforce may want to do something about this issue, and give smaller businesses the opportunity to try it out. The good news is that Morgan Stanley reported in a note on Thursday that Salesforce seems to be considering a new pricing strategy: “On Wave Analytics, the incremental news was that Salesforce is experimenting with pricing and thinking of removing the upfront platform license, leaving just the monthly subscription fees, as a way to drive wider adoption.”

No official statement has been made on this matter and Salesforce declined to comment on this.

Today’s enterprises need to connect & engage with customers, partners and employees in new ways. Aligning your company around your customers is the key to success, and that is why every company needs to focus on having their sales, marketing and service department work together hand by hand in order to achieve better results.

While researching this topic, we found an interesting article that gives us more information on what to expect from Dreamforce as a sales, service, or marketing professional; and we are going to break it down for you.

There will be a product show case for each one of them, where you will be able to have hands-on workshops, demos and real time support for all Dreamforce attendees. You will also have a chance to see how to use, and learn how to take advantage of the new technology and functionalities they will be presenting.

“Sales Cloud”: will be showcasing one of the biggest advancements in their product line that will be publicly announced on August 25th. The “True to the Core” Sales Cloud sessions are always the most popular ones, where they will have introductions and road maps, focusing on total integration into Salesforce.

“Service Cloud”: will show (among others) why live-chat and global service support is essential to your business strategy. This year sessions will include additional cross product sessions focusing on the crossover between Service Cloud and the Marketing and Sales Clouds.

See real life demos of how customers like L’Oreal, Jawbone, OpenTable, and Nestle use “Marketing Cloud.” The focus this year will be on the new Journey Builder, looking at email, mobile, and web, and how all of these areas of marketing can generate real results and increased ROI.  Additionally the Marketing Cloud is hosting the very first Dreamforce Film Festival.

Three films will be crowned winners, and the director will receive a VIP Dreamforce experience, $1,000 gift card and an Apple Watch. Videos will be judged based on creativity, originality, and how well it captures the futuristic theme. The funnier, the better.
