2 ) Salesforce Delivers New Salesforce1 Lightning Components and App Builder

LightningLayer

Salesforce expands and releases its new Appexchange for components. This is aimed at facilitating the process of App building for users of small and enterprise businesses.

AppExchange for Components is like a catalog that offers features, tools, and elements, such as new mobile-enhanced calendar views, heatmap graphic tools, and mini-spreadsheets for data entry, this are some of the items available from the selection of 50 items that are already available, with more coming soon. Just like apps on the AppExchange, every component can be rated and reviewed by users making it more reliable.

Salesforce1 Lightning is also available now. It includes the Lightning App Builder, a tool that helps users easily create entirely new enterprise apps by dragging and dropping these Salesforce components (mentioned above) into your app or page layout, which means no more recreating everything from scratch when you want to build a new app. With this platform companies can transform the way apps are built and enable them to have more customized apps that concentrate on their needs.

It’s noticeable that Salesforce is reducing the technology barriers little by little, simplifying the usage and user adoption in order to change enterprises and help them connect with customers on a different level.

3) Salesforce as Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Mobile Application Development Platforms

Gartner Positions Salesforce in the Leaders Quadrant in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Mobile Application Development Platforms

Salesforce has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant for enterprise mobile app development platform (MADP), on its worldwide report. This evaluation is based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. Gartner’s Magic Quadrants are based on rigorous analysis, backed up by highly structured methodologies. According to Gartner, “Leadership implies an understanding of the demands of the enterprise and the opportunities, and a genuine commitment to enterprises. A Leader must have demonstrated a market-leading vision and the ability to deliver on that vision.”

As seen in the article above and in many of our previous posts,  Salesforce is continuously improving its products and offerings in order to stay always ahead of the game and to fulfill customers demands, proving to be worthy of this kind of recognition. As said by Tod Nielsen , EVP of Salesforce1 Platform, “We believe Salesforce’s Magic Quadrant position reinforces our leadership and continued innovation.”

5) App of the Week: See How You Can Access Your Salesforce Data With no Internet Connection.

Pulsar App

This past week we ran into an issue with one of our clients, they were traveling and they wanted to access some valuable information from their Salesforce platform but they didn’t have internet access at the time so they weren’t able to do so, that’s when they contacted us. At the time we didn’t have an immediate solution to it, but as a team we started pondering possible solutions and brainstorming about how to fix this issue, and finally we encountered a pretty useful App that is featured as our “App of the Week” .

Pulsar is an easy to use application that lets you access your Salesforce data even offline. Simply download the app and login using your Salesforce credentials and your data will be ready for full offline read/write access. When you use this App you can have access to your calendar, Salesforce event, manage opportunities, complete orders, within other features while being offline. Pulsar also makes it easy to share videos and documents with prospective clients.

If you are out in the field and need to capture Salesforce information in real time and stay productive, this is an app that will interest you.
